1.31 Bradley Magnone - WR Northwestern
2.22 Mickey Carpenter - S Ball State
The King Kongs have been looking for help at Safety and they did a good job snagging Carpenter in the middle of the 2nd round. Carpenter struggles in man to man coverage and getting off of blocks, but excels in zone coverage and displays elite instincts. When he gets an open line to the ball carrier he's known to deliver vicious hits.
2.31 Desmond Preston - OLB Tennessee
Preston was excellent off the edge for the Volunteers despite being slightly undersized for the role. The King Kongs are looking to use him as a utility guy filling in where needed at Outside Linebacker and sometimes Defensive End.
Despite showcasing top tier receiving abilities during his senior season Magnone fell to the bottom of many draft boards due to his age (as a rookie he will be 25 years old by the time the season begins) and a mediocre combine performance. With criticisms abounding following quarterback Conner Josephs first few seasons in the league and questions regarding his ability to lead, Joseph silenced the critics this last season by leading the King Kongs to a 11-5 season and a Championship berth. The Hong Kong front office has now doubled down on Joseph by adding what they believe is one of the top receivers in this draft class. When asked about the recent draft class Conner Joseph was elated, "I love it. I can't wait to get started working with [Magnone] this offseason."2027 Hong Kong Draft Class

4.22 T.J. Greespan - DT Oklahoma
4.31 Micah Samuels - DB Illinois Despite playing most of his college ball as a Cornerback, Samuels' zone coverage skillset is ideal for a WAFL Free Safety and smart money is on the King Kongs utilizing him in that role. Samuels is also a serious threat as a punt return specialist.
5.31 Francisco Fanelli - Edge Wisconsin Hong Kong came in to offseason needing to address their ageing defensive line. After being silent in free agency all eyes were on how they would approach the draft and many feel they still did not do enough this offseason. However, early post draft reports suggest that the Hong Kong war room was absolutely ecstatic when they landed Francisco Fanelli at the end of the 5th round. Fanelli does everything well, nothing necessarily the best, he has the potential to be a solid player in the pass rush and setting the edge against the run.
T.J. has a concerning lack of strength for an interior lineman; no one was terribly surprised when he fell to day 3 of the draft. However he is deceptively quick for a man of his size. If he can make things work at the next level, he has the potential to be a truly disruptive force on the defensive front. 4.31 Micah Samuels - DB Illinois Despite playing most of his college ball as a Cornerback, Samuels' zone coverage skillset is ideal for a WAFL Free Safety and smart money is on the King Kongs utilizing him in that role. 6.31 Demetrius Alcott - OG Boston College
7.31 Corey Hudson - WR Notre Dame Hong Kong rounds out this draft class with another potential target for Conner Joseph. At 5'9 Corey Hudson is often literally overlooked just as he was almost overlooked in this draft but he mitigates his small stature by being one of the best route runners in this class. He may not be "Mossing" many defensive backs during his tenure in the league but he certainly has the skill set to make the opposition think twice about leaving him in single coverage.
Alcott comes out of Boston College a very raw prospect. Good footwork in pass blocking and a decent run blocker, he is a project player that is likely to be a backup to the other guards on the roster and should not see very much or any starting time in his rookie season. 7.31 Corey Hudson - WR Notre Dame Hong Kong rounds out this draft class with another potential target for Conner Joseph.
